Food lovers will be spoilt for choice as there are good places to eat nearby, memorably the Gurnard's Head along the road to Zennor (which Gilly supplies with saladings!).
A few miles east you have the village of Zennor (look for the mermaid in the church!) and the stunning costal town of St Ives, world famous for its galleries, interesting restauraunts and beautiful beaches.
Travel a few miles west and you will discover the ancient mining area of Pendeen followed by the town of St Just, which boasts its own collection of cafes and galleries.
If you are a walker looking for the wild side of Cornwall the nearest beach, Portheras Cove, is just a short walk from Keigwin, as is the South West Coast Path. West Penwith is an ancient area and travelling on foot you will come across ancient field systems and standing stones a-plenty.
